The Duck Season Continues

Unconfirmed reports state that the latest member of the marina to qualify for the noble order of the Rubber Duck is Bernard of ‘Sea Holly’. Our reporter, who’s identity cannot be revealed, stated that Bernard ‘... got a good ducking without actually going under.’  Nice one Bernard.

This brings the total so far this year to 3 rubber and 1 concrete duck.

What on the end of your anchor?

Going tidal, or plan on dropping the anchor up river.

Do you know how long your anchor chain is?

Is in all chain and attached to the boat in the chain locker with a final length of warp?

The next cruise organised for the marina will be on 18th July 2009, this will
be an overnight cruise leaving Allington Lock at 08:00 hrs on Saturday
18th July and cruising down to Stangate Creek. We will be collecting a
couple of boats from Strood on the way and arriving at Stangate at approx
mid-day. We will drop anchor and you can participate in some sunbathing or
fishing, weather permitting of course.

Departure from Stangate will be around 18:00 hrs so as to catch the flood
tide which will assist us up river to Strood Yacht Club where we will moor
and spend the night.

Sunday morning will see our departure from Strood back up river to the
marina. There are still places available so if you wish to come along please
let Ray ‘Kevayling’ know by e-mail here.
